No -

They make it in 1/4" or 1/2". They could rip it off or dig under if not secured properly.

Photo shows 1/2" with thousands of staples and aproned out to prevent the diggers on my banty coop/tractor.

I also lock them in the coop part at night.

Sorry For your loss. I had the same thing happen to me not long ago.

I sat outside & it did come back. I shot at it with a crossbow. I'm sure I missed though.

I covered the problem pens up with hardware cloth ASAP, and I've had no more losses.

Yep sound like coons. Had one take the legs off quail thru 1/2 hardware cloth. That was the bottom of a hutch pen.
