WORST unknown mystery predator ever!

I too am sorry about your loss and can relate. Just this past weekend we lost our three Plymouth barred rock pullets and two feather footed silkies (about 3 months old). They were all just darling little birds and I am still just sick about it. Whatever it was just left a pile of feathers in the pen and came back later that night and took them too. We are sure it was a racoon and are going to get it! Kelly from Minnesota

Use a small flashlight to help sillhouette the critter... this will also help you see your front site. A scope on your 22 helps when having to shoot a chicken predator after dark... (Lots of experience here!)

sounds like you had a bad day for sure,, had a day like that myself, but my 7 yr old Grandson was the one to find the dead dismembered chics, i used a chic for bait in a cage, and parked my bronco near by and waited for them to come back, several coons showed up and was lucky to get all of them, i also added additional wire so the chics could not put there head thru it, no problems since

Well Krypto, I certainly hope whatever it is isn't a bear or a cougar. The pea shooter 22 will not be much help.

Shooting things at night isn't easy. It has been my experience that usually things you would rather not have shot get shot. Like your new $300,000 combine or your wife's car.

In the war we used to put a tracer in every fifteenth bullet, that way we kind of knew where the bullets were going. That also meant that fourteen bullets were going God only know where.

It is a wonder we didn't kill each other.

Anyway, good luck hunting.
