Would a Broody look after additional chicks

I put 5 chicks that hatched the week before in with her and the little babies taught them that she was mama and she accepted them.
I think you got lucky here, older chicks usually don't 'get it' to go under mama.

Yeah, if you want to try grafting chicks onto an existing brood, it is best done in the first 24-36 hours before the hen abandons the eggs.

She had new babies she hatched herself and the older babies learned quickly from the new babies. I wouldn't try it with chicks older than 3-4 days (I would try with shipped chicks after they settled and proved to be in good condition) without littles to help train them.
