would a small dog house make a good coop for a couple ducks?

would maybe a small wooden dog house make a good duck coop

Would depend on how small your talking about and the breed of duck you intend to house in it. maybe demensions and breed and we can tell you more. But if the dog house is adequate you will have to make modifications to it like ventlation and a door that you can close and lock to protect them from predators.

I use the top half of a plastic dog house for a pair of ducks, but the house is in a chain link dog kennel that's 8'x6'. I pull it around the yard so they always have a clean area. They like to eat my dandelions.

I would think that would be too small to lock them in just the house (unless they are a small or bantam duck), if that's what you were asking. They would really make a mess in a wooden house, too.

I have a dog house kit from Lowe's. It is 32" x 32"
Was fine for 3 adult runner ducks for nighttime lock up.

Definitely depends on the size of the doghouse and the breed of duck.. we too have larger doghouses scattered about... but they are not the sort where the ducks could be locked in at night.

The types with the hinged lids would make better night time shelters, easier access... I'd run a search i swear i have seen doghouses modified on here for this very purpose.
