Would all the real Cornish Breeders Please stand up.

Since we are including Cornish projects as well, here are some projects we have been playing around with. Still a lot of work needed on type, but a start. Both large fowl, the blue laced red we expected.

Ok so I won't bore you anymore with all these pic's, I have hatchings going very well at the moment and many more planned all summer.

Really nice birds

I'm glad I found this thread.

I've heard good things about Cornish chickens. I myself am a big fan of birds with muscle, width... And that compact head, shorter compared to many other breeds. This is why I like Brahmas. Unfortunately, just as the problem I have with Brahmas, hatcheries are horrible at breeding their Cornish...
For both Brahmas and Cornish I've found it extremely difficult to find breeders nearby (or any who might ship to me). I'd like to build up some show stock later on, but for now my interest is trying out the breed to see if I'd like to become a true breeder when I'm able to do so. Namely when I get my own property, that's all that's stopping me right now. Not zoned for roosters.
I do plan on doing that next year, but I'm adamant to not order from a hatchery this time.
Somehow I get the idea that Cornish will be easier to find than Brahmas. ^^' But I do have some decent stock there... The chicks I got from Ideal Poultry, some of them come pretty close if only they were two or three times bigger. But after breeding them, I did get one large chick.
I know the problem though. More people seem to be moving on to bantams.
Stupid bantams.
No offense, it's just... No one raises large fowl anymore! XD

Ahem. Ignore my... Annoyingness.
Just looking at the good Cornish makes me envious of you guys. :3

Hello to you all!
I'm in southern AZ and looking to find some of the "real" cornish chickens to raise. If you know of anyone that is selling chicks... I want to start breeding them myself mainly for meat but would rather not buy through a hatchery.

I currently have birds from both the Ken Herring and Lewis Strait lines in darks and whites, both Large Fowl. Trying desperately to get my numbers up but these birds are very hard,if not impossible to get or afford and since they are so broody and don't lay well, increasing your flock size takes a lot of time but I do have that.
