I'm a 30 year old female from far Northeastern MN. My boyfriend and I built a house on 5 acres of woodland and I'm very interested in raising chickens. I'm just lurking around the forums now, gathering information, and falling in love with Cochins in particular. I do want to raise chickens for meat, but after seeing the photos and hearing the stories of pet chickens, I know it will be a challenge. Anyway, I'll be around here often, even if I have nothing intelligent to post for awhile! I'm a little concerned about building a coop to keep out the cold MN winter weather while still allowing for ventilation...
