I got 16 Button Quail hatching eggs around 5:00 as a local pick up. my MIL is being pretty nasty about me having them sit on top of the fireplace to settle so my sons dont get to them and break them so I was wondering if it would be okay just to go ahead and set them now?

TIA

You could if you have to, but it may affect the hatch rate. Letting them rest at least 12 hours is recommended. Either way, good luck

I have put them in my incubator but just don't turn on the turner until the next day. That way they are resting and heating up at the same time. I haven't noticed any decrease in my hatches. Just my opinion.
