Would It Be Wrong...?

And with burner...

Someone earlier in the thread mention they thought the old incubators were powered by kerosene. I guess they were right. Here is an old incubator similar in style to mine...explains what all the holes are about. Looks like the lever on top may have been for egg turning. We'll never be able to fully restore it.

But it's still an incubator...
Okay ... so restore that beautiful piece of furniture into the end table The Mrs. wants ... and get yourself a little 'bator that fits inside. Everybody wins and you both have a neat story to tell!

I wanted to help my wife get a head start on the refinish, so I vacuumed the interior to make to get all the dust and spiders out...she doesn't like spiders. Then I brought it up to the house and put a light inside...to make I got all the spiders. Then for safety purposes I also put a thermometer inside to make sure the light didn't make it too hot. (How thoughtful of me!)

You should get some fake chicks to put in there.

View attachment 1631970 My wife purchased an old incubator at an antique store to refinish and make into an end table conversation piece. She sees a piece of decorative nostalgia. But you know what I see...

Another incubator!

She is off to visit the grandchild until March...which gives me just enough time to do a little refinishing work of my own, get eggs, and hatch before she returns. Would it be wrong?
Not wrong if you give her the money back so she can get another end table!
