I can neither confirm or deny it. And, I have no recollection of the details of the matter...
Someone on the forum actually did incubate with a kerosene lamp. There was a thread....It was all she had available and she had some success.Someone earlier in the thread mention they thought the old incubators were powered by kerosene. I guess they were right. Here is an old incubator similar in style to mine...explains what all the holes are about. Looks like the lever on top may have been for egg turning. We'll never be able to fully restore it.
