Would It Be Wrong...?

With all due respect to The Princess Bride...today would hypothetically be Day 8, and I would have candled on Day 7 to ensure that the old incubator still had it, and I would have to report that except for 2 yolkers the other 22 eggs would be progressing fine.

I have a batch of eggs in a Hova bator so when my wife returns I'm hoping she won't be able to tell the difference between the real chicks and the hypothetical ones (unless my hatch rate is too good and exceeds 42. Maybe she'll think I had some double yolks...hmmm.)

Can you tell the difference between a hypothetical chick and a real one? (I bet my wife can't either)

Antique Inc1.jpg

I moved them into a hatching box for lockdown to avoid messing up the antique. Overall, not too bad for mailed eggs and adapted heat, air and humidity control. 9 of 12 Bielefelders and 6 of 11 crested cream legbars hatched (65%). In the hova bator the week before the result was 11 of 20 Bielefelders and 9 of 18 CCL (52.6%).

The antique incubator has been unmodified and returned to the workshop to collect dust until my wife gets around to refinishing it.

Well done! Good call on using a hatching box! Your bride will never know. ;)
