My amber whites are 4 weeks old and one I think is definitely a roo! It's chasing the others and looks to be growing spurs. Here are pics. What do you think? We only got 4 chicks and I'm very hopeful that none of the other three are roos too...

The 2nd picture looks like a rooster to me. A 4 week old pullet should not have color in her comb. I love my roosters. Is there a reason you don't want one?

The main chick in all of them is the same one, I rent on a property where I can't have a rooster and soon we will be moving to a city so we definitely can't have one

I know how you feel. I raised six chicks and four turned out to be roosters. They're eight months now and I just rehomed all of them today. Kinda sad but it had to be done.

I'd hold off a while, just to be sure. This hybrid is Leghorn based, so larger combs early aren't unheard of. It can make things tricky telling gender, though! Spur buds mean nothing, both genders usually have buds. The bird is only 4 weeks old, I'm thinking in the next 3 weeks you should know for sure.

Ah okay I will hold off, I wouldnt want to give it away and it actually be a pullet. I'm really hoping that I dont have more than one boy... I actually found another thread here with chicks that looked similar to mine and they ended up being cockerels.

I'm so sorry! Did you get them already sexed? This is my biggest fear. This is my first time raising chickens in a very long time and I really don't want to end up with only one pullet and by the time we find out it would probably be too late to buy more chicks.

the ones with long tail and wing feathers are hens the short tail and wing feathers cocks...jeff
