Would Rexes be good meat rabbits?

I was wondering whether Standard Rex's would do for meat rabbits as I like their fur.

I know of alot of people who breed them for meat. We have have a trio we've been breeding for meat, and recently added 2 rex/nz mixes to our herd. Our girls litter sizes have ranged from 7-10 so far.

They are a meat bread, may not grow as fast as New Zealands etc, but I'm not sure on that. I want to breed standard rex into my new zealand for pelts keeping good production fast growth from the NZ.
