Would the chick feed affect growing time

Hey, i am new to BYC and i was wondering if the chick feed would affect its growing time. One week i ran out of chick feed so i fed them corn scratch until i went to town again, and they did not look like the chicks on the internet. Help anyone please

Every chick is different. Corn starch has pretty much no nutritional value whatsoever. A growing chick need about 20% protein to add needed muscle and tissue to its body.
