Would the chicken notice if I take one of its egg?

My chickens haven't laid eggs yet but if they did. Do they know how many eggs they laid and if they would notice if one of their eggs are missing?

It is because I wanna get one egg from it and I would want to raise it once it hatched.

Are you planning on incubating?
Chickens don't count their eggs, sometimes they stay broody even after their eggs are all gone.
