I searched the forum a little for the answer to this question, but still not sure of the answer. What does it take for chicks to be sex linked?

We just hatched chicks from this rooster and hen, a silver-spangled hamburg and unknown bantam hen:

So far we have four chipmunk striped ones (yellow and black) and two black with a bit of yellow around their eyes and maybe on tummies (and two unhatched eggs). I guess if the hen is a mixed breed there's no telling about the chicks?

Anyway, TIA for any replies :)

sorry no sex link cross there....!! the silver spangled hamburg seems to be heterozygous for the ER(Birchen) allele, the hen is a heavily melanized wildtype(e+) sex link gold hen, out of this cross the hens will be silver(S/-) and the boys will be golden(S/s+)
