So, I was browsing the OEGB thread in my leisure time, and found some stunning pictures of Crele birds. Crele happens to be one of my favorite colors, and the best part, in my opinion, is the hackle and saddle feathers, which are patterned with stunning golden and copper barring.Would it be possible to attain a bird who is completely covered in this pattern?

I'm not necessarily thinking of the existing color, Lemon Cuckoo:

I'm thinking of a pattern with richer, more contrasted stripes like what you see on this example's hackles and saddle:

I imagine it would be easiest to accomplish on an OEG, Brahma, or even a Polish, considering that they already have related patterns (Crele, Lemon cuckoo, etc.). I would love to see it on any bird.

Are you talking a pattern like this?
Here is a Red Barred Plymouth Rock from the U.K. the pattern there is known as a, "Red Striped" or, "Rood Gestreept" .

Precisely what I was thinking; darn, I thought I was the first one to think of it. Then Chris had to come and ruin it!

Just kidding. Thanks for sharing that beautiful picture. I would love to see that on other breeds!

Yep, sounds like you want a Red Barred bird:

The image above is a cockerel owned by Rooster-Spur.

To do it, you'll need to use partridge based birds and introduce the columbian gene.
