You are darn tootin it will make him think. I have tried being nice and respectful and treating him how I would want to be treated. This gets me no where with him.

It's not like the pen is FULL of pig poop so the puppy won't get sick from it or anything. She won't drown in a manure pile is what I am saying here. I wouldn't harm an animal.

THe pine shaving treatment isn't a bad idea either... that will make simply giving the dog a bath a little more tricky - might have to pick off all the shavings first.!

On a side note this really goes against what my mom and dad taught me. I figure though my chickens are like my kids. So if this is what it takes then it will have to be done.

As long as the "eau de pig" won't make your BIL do something even more irresponsible like, say, leave the dog outside all of the time (or chain the dog) I say DO IT! Every. Time. It's only fair. If anything, it's more than fair, because it's not doing the pug any harm to get dirty but the dog could do real harm to your chickens.

Really, I think it's just a hysterical way to prove a good point. There are consequences to your actions (or lack of, as the case may be) and at some point you have to grow up and realize this. Some people don't get it 'till it's right under their nose...
