Would this break the Chickens heart or personality?

Okay, so me and my buddy are planning on having my Buff Orpington brood a Barnevelder egg, and when the egg is hatched I will give the chick to my friend.

Will this make my chicken sad? Because my friend would like to get the full "Chick experience".

You may want to try 3 or so. One might not hatch. Also, they do like to have company.

If you have a broody hen, put as many fertile eggs under her as she can handle. I'd say at least a dozen, that way you can let mama keep a few and then give your friend a few. Chicks do better in groups of three or more. Good luck! Broody hens are so much fun!
