Would this kind of light bulb work?

If I had a more squatty light bulb I could fit my 2nd shelf in. If it will work I'm going to switch it out for my next hatch.

the only thing I can see being a problem is the fact that those lights direct light in one direction, and they don't radiate light or heat out to the sides as well, so in a still air your probably going to have a hotter area in the vicinity of the bulb's light but cooler on the sides of the bator. in a forced air, I don't think it would be as big a deal, but i would test this bulb for a couple days without eggs first.

It would work fine as long as it is not aimed at the eggs an you have a good thermostat.
