Well I was sold on that one until I saw it was going to cost more than the item is for shipping! Ugh I really hate shipping.....
You can make your own version of the feather feeder for about $10!
Home Depot orange bucket and lid - or other 5-gal bucket, or even Tidy Cats bucket with lid
20" or bigger plastic plant saucer
Bolt, washer and nut - optional, only if you're going to hang it, or move it around a lot.
Cut several holes in the bucket sides at the bottom of the bucket to let seed out - using a drill with spade bit makes it easy.
Place bucket in the center of the saucer.
If you want the bucket fastened to the saucer, drill a hole through each and fasten with the nut, bolt and washer (have the bolt come up through into the bucket so the feeder lays flat.)
Fill with feed, place the lid on to keep clean and dry, and hang if desired.
I saw someone selling something like this on CL for $28...
You can make a waterer, too, with only one small hole at the bottom (use 3/8" drill bit) and make sure your saucer rim comes up above the hole. The lid is necessary and must fit tightly for it to work. Silicone the hole with the bolt to prevent leaks.
ETa: Oops, I responded before I read the whole thread, this is the same idea others were suggesting.
