Would this work for a nestbox?

I found this on the walmart website and thought it might work for my little flock (3 hens ). The ad shows 9 cubbies but the price is only for 3 cubbies. Kinda misleading, but then I only want 3. Does it look like it would be big enough? And, is the price to much?

p.s. My husband and I are not at all handy, so we wouldn't even know how to make something as simple as that.

You need something bigger than that, I've read of people using old milk crates and even square litter box containers! Good luck!

We made something similar for our coop and each one of ours is 12 by 12. We have three with 9 laying hens and they seem to like the same one even when one of them switches. I would think it would depend on the breed of your bird.

I went to Dollar General and bought a plastic stacker for $5 and they like it okay. You only need one for 3 hens. I have 60 laying hens and they still fight over the same one!
Also Lowes sells small black plastic tubs that work well. I put one up on a few concrete blocks and they like that one pretty well.
Bigger is better than smaller. Though I have seen a few hens squeeze into a small spot to lay but I also have seen 5 girls sit in a wheel barrow with some hay parked in a corner and lay together.
