Would you bury a dead chicken in your garden to nourish the soil?

I grow out about 40 cx a year. I have an urban homestead. I dig a hole about two feet deep within the root zone under one of my fruit trees with the idea that over the years, the roots move in and consume whatever nutrients there are, resulting in more nutritious fruit. I also do this with the occasional chicken that dies, any rats I catch. I have no idea how much of a difference this makes but it seems like a shame to waste anything, certainly a waste to send it all to the landfill.
