Would you buy a 25# bag of feed?

Would you be interested in buying chicken feed in 25# bags instead of 50#?

The only bag of feed that I have bought in 25# bags is chick starter for a small brooder of chicks.

Are you asking what the benefits would be? Would the price per pound be the same?

I know they're lighter, but it would also end up being twice as much work... and cost per pound, usually ends up costing a little more in the smaller bag.

so no I probably wouldn't.

I buy it in 100# sacks. It saves me about $5, I think. I was going to start getting 50# sacks, but decided to just hatch more chicks to use it up faster. Chicken math, ain't it something?

I buy that size often if I am low on cash and if it is comparable price per pound. Gets me by until I can afford a bigger sack of feed but as you know, it only lasts half as long. : )

I only buy 25# bags of things like chick starter since I never keep more than a dozen or so in the brooder at a time. I buy 50# bags of layer and won't go any larger since my middle-aged back won't put up with the extra weight. I know it would be cheaper to buy in larger volume but the extra money is worth it so I can still walk afterwards

I wouldn't buy it, only because the smaller bags are a little over 12 bucks and the 50 lb bags are about 18. So in reality I get more bang for my buck by buying the bigger bags.

50lbs only lasts me about 3 weeks. I don't have storage for more and it wouldn't make sense to buy less. Same with the dog food, I also buy 50lb bags. Lifting wise I guess I would buy several smaller bags if the price was comparable.

I definately would. Let's just say, a 50# bag is more than 1/2 my weight. I have to get a friend or DS to help. I couldn't even imagine me trying to lift the 100# bag. lol
