From an injury I would. We have had cattle and pigs butchered due to broken limbs, but from an illness or predator attack, not worth the risk to me.

I had some Cornish that ended up with nasty gashes either from climbing on each other or scratching from gnats. They are healed now and wondering if they are still safe to eat
