I found a giant nest with 24 eggs today. I'm pretty it was from 1 maybe 2 hens
Idk how long it's been there, 5 of my 7 hens (no rooster) were killed last week but i know 1 is still laying and those are her eggs
The lows have been 30°s and below and highs have been 60°s

Since I only have 2 girls left, I really don't want to waste any eggs
They're dirty but non smell. Should I toss?

I know this probably wouldn't be everybody's answer but I would  I'm a huge non-waster and I found a nest of exactly 30 one day. I did the float test on them all and they passed I made sure that those weren't any eggs that I give away to people or sell to people. I just inspected them like the inside before I used them. They didn't look odd and they didn't have an odd smell. I enjoyed all 30 and I lived to tell about it

I personally would not eat them. I'd take it as a loss and toss.

If you do want to eat them, float them. See if they sink or float. Is that still a way of checking if eggs are good or not?
I check them like that but I also check the inside of the egg if I have questions. I've heard the float method is accurate but not to 100%

I'd toss them in the Incubator!

I ended up doing the float test, only 1 was floating just a tiny bit so I tossed
There was a double yoke with a big meat spot so i cooked it up with the shells for the girls
All the rest laid flat, no funny colors and inside of shells looked fine
I'm going to make quiche for Christmas with them

No rooster

When in doubt, throw them out. And if you wouldn't eat them, don't give them to your girls.

Yeah, if no roosters I'd just scramble 'em up for the girls, shells & all.
