What about instead of canning there was something like preserving? That way pickling, drying, freeze drying, etc could enter as well making it more accessible to people

How many of you would enter the BYC Summer Fair, Baking show, Food show and Canning show, contest? They closed them because of "lack of interest".
I feel like there is a good number of us that would.

Don't forget to take a picture of the ingredients! And finished food(s).

Your pictures don't have to totally be perfect to enter! Do the best you can. Get creative

Edit to add: I am talking about 3 separate contest.

Glad it's 3 separate contests, as pictures of canned food are not always pretty. Tasty yes. I would have to surround the jars with decorative props.

I think it was for preserving of any type! Bc there was definitely honey and pickled beans and dried herbs and stuff.

Yes!! You could enter that! Even if you entered pictures last year that didn't win, you can re enter them this year.

Again didn’t get to collect apples until the middle/end of Oct. made some peach and apple pie filling:

(Made use of the last peppers and cucumbers at the same time since I was canning)
