Would you feed your chicken food scraps from a restaurant?

I am a student writing a final project on food waste and alternative systems. I have two questions I would like to pose. First, what restaurant food waste items would you feed to your chickens, and which would you not feed them? Secondly, how much can your chickens eat in a day? I appreciate any feed back, and look forward to reading your response.

I would feed them bread products, like sandwiches, or salads. Not meat. I'm not sure how much they eat in a day, but I would guess about 2 gallons of feed for every 10-12 full size birds per day, but that's only if they are locked in the coop all day and can't free range.

We feed our chickens all sorts of scraps & waste from our own kitchen, and I guess I don't see restaurant leftovers as all that different.

I think I would give mine nearly anything that wasn't spoiled.

I would be uncomfortable with meats, dairy etc if it had spent hours at room temperature, or really any food that might be moldy or "off." If these hypothetical leftovers were reasonably fresh, well, chickens are omnivores.

I don't know how to estimate how much of it they could eat.
