Hello, all you wonderful chicken people, and Happy New Year! I just chopped up a big, ripe, juicy Mexican Papaya for my (human) kids (yes, they do get yummy treats, too, not just the chickens...), and I'm wondering if I should give the chickens the seeds, along with peel and a bit of the fruity meat. I tasted them, and they're a bit spicy, kind of like radishes. Could it possibly hurt them...?

If I'm not mistaken, papaya seeds have something in them that helps with digestion.

I feed them to my parrot, so I think they should be fine for chickens, too. It's one of the few fruit seeds that's ok to feed to parrots.

What a good mom you are!
