Would you keep your quail indoors if possible?

I am in the finishing stages of building a 12x20 building that will house a 12x12 chicken coop and then a seperate 8x12 section for others..

My question is should I keep them indoors, are there any benifits to keeping them outside? The 8x12 section will house the brooder, incubators and rabbits along with supplies. It will be air conditioned and have 2 windows, whats yuour thought and what would you do?

I am looking to breed these guys for meat and eggs.. Thanks!!!!

Inside a coop yard, garage or barn, sure. Inside a house, no! They have extra smelly poo. But there's no reason not to build a set of 2x3 shelves/pens along the barn walls, and it would work nicely.

I agree with saddina, no WAY would I keep them in the house! They are stinky!!! Mine are inside the barn right now, and it doesn't affect them. Since your building is air conditioned I'm sure they'd love it. Mine would probably rather be outside when it's really hot, so they can get a decent breeze.

Yucky Yucky poo smell. I don't know if I will ever be able to eat mine having to smell them.

Just how extra smelly is the stuff..lol.. I will be in there quite a bit butchering everyting from deer to quail.... Dont want to have to wear a hazmat suit

They are pretty sour. You'll have to clean it out pretty regularly.

Just keep some pine pellets under their pens, this will help with the smell. But they are pretty stinky.

Consider the ways to control the source of the odors. I may have missed it if you said, do you have a concrete floor with a wash down drain? You don't want to mix roosts/cages and food preparation areas. Outside is always better unless temps are too extreme; frozen stiff or bursting into flames are good benchmarks, kidding of course. We have quail ranging the fields with our chickens and ducks.
