Would you recommend buying hatching eggs from eBay?

Hoping this means let some of your chickens breed and hatch their eggs?
Another thing with EBAY is that it seems a lot of people haven't gotten the breeds that the eggs were advertised as.
Right! In September 2022 I purchased Silver Laced English Orpington hatching eggs from lindseysfluffs and I am not sure what she sent me but it's anyones quess. The only chick that hatched has feathers coming in on its head, very Long tail feathers and long long long wing feathers....all this at 15 days old. The pics are 15 days old.
She communicated well with me until she asked for and recd a pic of this chick as a 2 day old chick.
She cut off all communication, I suspect as soon as she realized the terrible mistake she made.
Before that she was going to send me more eggs since all but 1 were yolkers.
She is bad to deal with and now I have an extremely expensive unknown chick 😕
First I thought Silver Laced Wyandotte but wrong color legs. Then the feathers coming in on its head.....Silkie 🙄

Her other listings have both.
She has no business on ebay, her chickens are mixed up and she doesn't know what she is sending out.

I love unknowns. I hope you at least have a pullet!

I have gotten shipped eggs from OH, Iowa, Alabama, ID, NC, Cal, and WA. I have also brought eggs home from near by areas, (drove to ) MT, ID, WA, my best hatch rate of course is near home. Shipped wise it is best to get eggs close to home. My best ship hatch rate was from ID. 17/24. My best hatch rate was from a local store, but local farm 34/36.

Detatched air cells will hatch, but you have to do some special attention, so that happens. Also letting eggs sit a day after you get them and warming to room temp before incubating helps.
