would you recommend getting peachicks

If your choice is eggs or chicks always go with the started chicks. The first few months are delicate with peachicks.

To be blunt because I wish someone had told me this when I started (before peafowl forums were really getting a foothold.) buying peachicks or eggs if you are new to peafowl is throwing money out the window. Experience with other poultry doesn't really help because peafowl are not domesticated and do not have the hardiness bred into them until they're cockroaches like chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, etc. If you want to save yourself alot of discouragement, time, and money I would purchase birds no younger than 4-6 months. They're much sturdier by then.
