So this afternoon, not entirely sure when, one of my chickens in my flock was killed, she got caught in between their temp home, and the wall of the run, and when my husband got home and went to check on them he found her dead, and pretty torn up. I assume that there was a scuffle, so I checked over the rest of the flock. I noticed one of my ducks was hanging his wing very low and having to pick it back up a lot. I got close enough to see that their is some blood, but he won't let me handle him really, so I will have to wait til they're done free ranging and go back to the run tonight. That said I'm assuming that it's a smallish wound, because there doesn't appear to be any fresh blood anymore. What should I do? I have blu kote around, but there is not red anyhow, should I clean it and blu kote it, should I wrap the wing to keep it held up, should I just monitor for now? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like a predator tried to drag the chicken out and couldn't. The duck likely injured its self trying to get away, though it could be a bite as well. Make sure the wing isn't broken, but it could just be a torn muscle or something. You could wrap the wing, though careful that you do it gently so it doesn't hurt.
Keep the wound clean, prevent shock by keeping the duck calm and warm, and offer food with vitamins and electrolytes and some soft, vitamin rich foods. If it shows great improvement you may be able to release it tomorrow. However, be aware that maggots are a very real problem, even in small wounds.

I hope it gets better soon! Best of luck!

So I think it was the other chickens that killed the chicken, and that it was the chickens who caught the duck's wing in the process. He is a pet duck, and I couldn't actually find the source of the blood through all those thick feathers, even once he finally let me hold him and look. Other than the wing he seems pretty happy and chill, he just keeps trying to lift it back up, because it is hanging low.

The duck is healing nicely!

That's great!
