Okay, so today its raining pretty hard in southern CA, my chickens love the rain. I went out there dressed in my warmest clothes, and an umbrella and opened the coop to let them out. However, are chicken rosa, was strutten about with something in her mouth. So, I called her over and she stared at me before dropping what she had and ran.
We've gotten spearows in are chicken.coop before because they can fit in the hole we have to run the cord for their winter heating laps and it seems one got in for food. However, the little thing couldn't fly very well, just flap her wings rapidly and hop about. I had to wear mittens to hold her cause she'd bite at my hand, but the hens did some damage. A bunch of feathers torn out, she was bleeding alittle and she refuses to walk on her right leg. Any suggestions on how to help her and care for her tell I can get her to a avian specialist? The roads to the usual place I go to are flooded and the place is closed fridays and saturdays.
