Wounds from rooster

I have a few hens that my rooster prefers. They lose the feathers where he grabs on and that area also gets red and a little bloody. I put them healer on one and it seemed to get better! Bought those jackets to cover their back but the first one i tried didn't go over well. It was thick and she couldn't move good & she was unable to get up on her roost. She was a little smaller than my other hens so she didn't like it. Any suggestions? Yes no or anywhere inbetween. It's been so hot, especially in their coop that i don't want to overheat them. I have a fan and put fresh water with ice cubes in at nite

They don't eat or drink at night, so you'd do better to ice their water in the heat of the day. Also, chicken aprons come in different sizes and weights, so keep shopping (on line) till you find what you need.

How many hens do you have?

X2 to what BigBlueHen53 said, I'd consider getting more hens or rid of the rooster if the problem gets worse.
