Wow. It's cold, but the sun is shining!

They don't understand that we have different soil in the desert and it doesn't soak up water, the water runs, picks up the soil and causes slides and flooding. It's called the desert for a reason! I hope it's good in March when I go to Phoenix!

Ok we have snow, lightening and thunder. ODD to say the least! I just threw snowballs at my son

Im in the Cental Valley and we've had some serious flooding. Our ground is absorbing it pretty quickly though, in most places. Out here in the boonies, its going quick but in the city the streets are flooded. Unfortunately, we are literally in a bowl. North South, East and West, all mountains. When the stuff starts flowing off of them, we're in trouble.

A tornado touched down last night in North Scottsdale

I've got so much cleanup to do.

Perhaps after a nap.

Well, my son just called and the roof on his new expensive house leaked all night.

When I was a kid, my father used to love those gully washers. They would flush a lot of dirt and rocks down from the mountains. Those corrugated metal tubes the highway department used to channel water under the highway or for bridges are natural sluices. There would be a lot of fine gold washed down.

He and his friend would disappear for a couple of days and then show up with beans and bacon. Good memories.
