Wowwwww!... still can't believe it!

I would just think of it as free livestock.. Make them your breeder rabbits that you didnt have to pay for.. The the young could be meat rabbits.. Almost free food. Except for cage and feed. What a great way to start your rabbit livestock project.. Thats what I would do. But it would be hard for me to eat them.. Ive never had rabbit. And darn it they are so cute..

I'm weak... so very weak!

midwestmilkmaiden, I feel for you.

I'm going to a swap Saturday, taking chicks to sell. I wasn't planning on taking DD. DH is making me take DD with me. He said "Just say 'no' if she asks for anything."

All I could think was 'What if I want it?"

Next time give the kids the choice... ok girls, you choose, if the rabbits come home with us, they will be eaten for your dinner, or you can let them go home with someone else as a pet. (ok, maybe thats mean... but ..)

Don't allow yourself to be bullied by someone like that! It underminds your authority and shows a weak spot the kids will surely take advantage of later (trust me! lol).

I would check first if anyone wanted them, I'm sure a friend or family member would want some meat rabbits;)

Ya we need to see these cute little monsters. LOL

Someone did that with Chele and Steven at the Fair one year,, no matter how many times I said no. So when I took the bunnies back out of their arms, and they cried as I handed them back, I told the guy "I hope you feel good now, you made them cry. Don't go against parents wishes in the future".

I fell for my kids wanting bunnies once. The pet store guy said he couldn't tell whether they were boys or girls, but they were both the same. I believed him right up until the delivery. Keep them in separate cages, unless you really want to raise wabbits!
