Wrath's Marans

I do have a spare 4x4 coop and run not being used. 🤔
You definitely need some!

PS, he bites 🤣 hard  just one bite though, not an attack, he just chomps down one time and won't let go.

I have 2 of Joannie's chicks with fused toes... Anyone done this surgery?
Suggestions, thoughts, advise?

Don't care for the band aid at the end. Need better options there and better stop bleed. Gotta see what I have on hand or I'll have to run to the store.

That's a new one for me 🤔 is it impacting their ability to walk right?
The one with both feet, yes. It walks like having a club foot. I need to get a closer look but I may have difficulty with the one side. The middle toe nail looks curved towards the outside toe and connected to the webbing.
I'll get pics.....

Doing a search seems like it's fairly common. Genetically speaking from what I've found so far, it's hit or miss if it can be passed down so it should avoid being used for breeding.

I'll give these two a real good look over to see overall condition of both, note and leg band after and go from there.

The other 5 that momma has are all good. 🙂

Just a long winded small update as it's been crazy busy juggling birds around daily, checking on the babies thru out the day and trying to get chores done. And I need to get the coop expanded here very soon.
Both Momma and Joannie with their babies have been in 2 separate runs now thru out the day. I haven't introduced them to each other yet, other than brooder line of sight...I fear it's not gonna go well.
Styptic powder will be here today or tomorrow so I can take care of the web footed ones.

Let Joannie out to free range a bit yesterday, that went good. A couple hens got too close and got the 'what for'. Apparently they forgot who was head hen.

Kong has been super curious of the new arrivals since hatch but he kept his distance.
