Nice looking eggs. My Marans are still off lay. Hopefully they will start back up soon

It's taken me a few weeks to collect 4 dozen. I've had 4 consistent layers, 2 in each flock that keep pumping out eggs. But now a couple more have started over the last few days in the Marans stronghold but still no pullet eggs yet.

Roady and 1 of her 3 littles trying to stay of the bitter wind. She still hangs with them at 18 weeks like they're besties.

King hasn't been able to roost with the girls for quite some time so he's been sleeping on the floor in a cardboard box with bedding. Finally built him his own man bed.

Momma on my workbench while typing this. Just thought it was a cool pic the way the sun whited out her comb.

Put a pop door in for the boys so I'm not moving birds around so much. On the inside I did guillotine style so I no longer need to go around to the run, make sure their still in the run and close it if I need to. I'm going to do this to the other coops also. I also like the fact it's another layer of protection/wind blockage at night if I need it.

And finally a game of 'Stuff the coat with your Rooster'

And seeings that I just built Kings bed today I needed a pic tonight. He went right in and stuffed it full.

Oh wow, that's a long time for her to mother them, that's really cool though. Especially if she's helping them keep warm.

She's been a great broody. She still watches over them and hangs with them all day and they roost together.
