Yes, this.... One of the main reasons I haven't pulled that trigger yet. Lots of research when I have time....if I'm going to spend the money, I want quality to keep moving forward, darker eggs would be a plus but not a priority.

I haven't seen the eggs yet but I would guess something similar to what Solo lays.

Tried getting more pics but phone storage issues. Does anyone use an external site to host pics..preferably free? I've got Google photos at moment but still have issues a lot with storage.
I used to have a Photobucket account but I think it's pay now.

It’s a black copper with barring, one minute and I’ll find a good photo (most pictures online are bad quality).

This is the hen. I basically exactly how I want mine to end up (except mine will be clean legged). The golden is open for interpretation so can be a tad darker. The back and breast should be as in a dark cuckoo, ideally not brown.

this is the cock, this one isn’t brilliant but his colour is good. The black parts of a BCM should be like a dark cuckoo and then the copper has light blue-grey barring.

Edit: my biggest chicken project at the moment is combining the barring from English Dark Cuckoos onto the Black Copper pattern to create this variety. It’s probably the rarest of the accepted varieties, and the flashiest of the varieties accepted in England (BCMs aren’t recognised here).
