Wrath's Marans

NY state is ... sue happy I feel lol. I'm leaning towards if I don't have people buying eggs to hatch we just keep them and gift them but wife wants me to pay for their food
This sounds like a great question for your county Extension Office. If it's a large office, they might have a "small farm" agent, but when you call their main number, they should be able to route you.

Just Google <your county name ny> extension. It might also go as "cooperative extension." Good luck!

This helped a bunch :). My local agent gave me a wealth of information on the do's and do nots etc. Thanks again :) Also it's super cheap for coverage $1M for 50 dollars a year + another 50 dollars to cover the eggs + products I produce on farm.

Well, how cool! And a relatively low premium tells me that there aren’t many claims. Glad this helped!

Yeah the agent said that most of the risk comes with prepared products. IE if you offer pasturized milk, or added in products to honey it causes major issues. Also not allowing customers on your property reduces costs significantly.

That's good news and some info I didn't know. I may not need it here but it's still helpful just in case.

Thanks

I can imagine the prepared products bit.

I haven’t killed anyone yet with my home canning, as far as I know, but I always wondered what is involved when people start going the tailgate market route.
