One of my girls (light sussex) is laying these weird corrugated wrinkled eggs. The shells are hard not soft but all munted! Is it disease, or lack of something? And are the eggs ok to eat? Can someone help me?
Cheers

My Barred Rock laid a couple of those early on in the process. They can lay all kinds of strange eggs when they are starting up. And yes, they are okay to eat.

What caused that??? My chicken laid 'munted' eggs (but not like the one in the photo - more mishapen than anything) when she had an infection of the oviduct.

I'm not sure what the cause was. It just took her a little while to get it "right" in the beginning. This picture was taken last year. Thought I'd post to see if it resembled the OP's wrinkled egg. Others on here have posted similar eggs. I thought it looked like a little tufted pillow...although a hard one.
