Writing a story!

I'm getting the feeling that stories on here was a bad idea.

Other people want to try writing stories too! But that causes more problems.....

1) People don't want their stories copied
2) There is only so much you can write about chickens so there's bound to be copying anyways
3) Copyrights and publishing are getting involved
4) It's scary posting new stories out there with your writing, your ideas, you don't know if anyone will like it or not, and then getting discouraged or not even writing at all because of negative comments

I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, but stories on here probably will go kaput sooner or later because of fighting. I wish it wasn't so, personally I've loved reading these chicken stories, and to see any young or old writers that would produce more stories but not doing so, is sad. Self confidence going down the tubes isn't a good thing. Anyone that has read this post but has taken it as a personal insult; I'm sorry.

I agree with the last few posters. Sooner or later, everyone is going to get worked up about who's copying who. However, the main characters are chickens. Many chickens have similar experiences. I think that if you want to write about your chickens, go ahead. If it is all true to the facts, exactly, my thoughts is that no one can stop you from writing, even if it is similar in some respects, BECAUSE THEY ARE YOUR CHICKENS. However, if elements of fiction are added and it is close to another writers work, the author should try to take it in another direction.

Yeah. I didn't want my story to go up in flames, as I enjoy writing it, and many people enjoy reading it. I do plan to get it published and copyrited, as that has been my goal for a couple years now. I am almost a teenager, and many of you think I am a great writer, but so are others. I am very sad though, that people are posting stories that are almost identical to mine a month or so after mine was started. I don't mean to cause trouble, really.

Just be creative with your stroy... if you REALLY wanna make a story than do it... but then again people will be "You copied me!" and stuff like that. Good luck with your story!

I don't know if I am going to post it... Maybe I'll just share it with you I don't want to start more trouble and fighting. My story is just for fun.. I wouldn't do anything with it. I mean, I am not even a teenager... I love to write, but not start fights. MAYBE once everything settles down, I'll share it with everyone. But just maybe... I just really want people to see my stories.​

You could ask who wants to see it and then PM it to those people only.
