How's the writing going everyone? How're we like 2 weeks into the year already

It's actually going surprisingly well right now. I actually just stepped away from it because my brain was getting tired and suddenly words were no longer coming. I think I've discovered a little trick that's helping me right now: Take character that I've been hyper focused on, lock him up in writing jail, and don't allow him a speck of sunlight until I have worked on my editing some. My current goal is work on a full page each weekday, so it's being a realistic goal and not keeping my other character locked up for too long.

OK FINE. I NEED HELP. WHAT'S A REALISTIC GOAL?

Well, my current goal is one page each weekday, though I'm not counting on that for the full week because life happens and some days my brain is too tired to write. (Plus I'm also reading another craft book at the moment.) Maybe that's more than you could do at this time, but I would highly recommend writing a little each day, even if you're only putting out a couple of sentences or even a paragraph.

If you don't know what to write, try taking some set aside time and just brainstorm your characters. Even take an everyday situation and throw your characters into it. One of my favorite things to do is while riding, imagine how my character would see things on the road, or even pretend I'm riding in one of the cars from one of my stories, like this Land Rover Discovery that I've had in one of my stories for years.
