wrong 'item' sold to me????

I indeed do not really feel too good about my birds being lost but after all , they were with so many and not a 100% happy given the fact they have been freeraging like for ages and suddenly they were moved , a lot were given away and a few could stay there , but yeah it happened and still we havent caught the predator but we did make changes on and around the coop now , so it is for sure nothing can get in there besides what belongs in there . Now just some questions here : how can these genetics change ?? and I guess she is indeed the result of bad breeding given the fact we recently found out that the breeder had a VERY bad reputation , not ONE good review at all ! only complaining ! he sold sick hens , never vaccinated , and on the top he sold the wrong ones especially to people who just started and they were ofcourse clueless ! so what is it that causes the bad breed in fact ? I have seen nice delawares in other countries ? but that bird ? mistake of nature ?? I do not know much / enough about genetics but I should I know ...
Now I took in ex batts because I tought why not using the areau usefull ? for now no more heritagebreeds and once these girls are settled in nicely I can still get a mixed flock , but first things first ..

I just know that mean birds will breed mean offspring so if the breeder isn't selecting for temperament (which should always be the basis of a good breeding programme) then the resulting birds won't make good pets or show birds if that's their aim (which it clearly isn't). A breeder my Mum got some chickens off had a beautiful Barred Rock rooster - he was a perfect example of the breed in looks, but he was the nastiest thing, so she was giving him to a friend who would put him to good use (as dinner) as she didn't have the heart to eat any of her birds herself, and she knew breeding from him would only end with more nasty birds.

Just joined this thread. Figured it was a Delaware when you mentioned the Dots on her neck. The Light Sussex and the Delaware have the same coloring scheme except the Delaware has the extra barring gene which makes the neck feathers look like a rows of dots...instead on the black feathers with a white stripe down the center in the Light Sussex.
Best,
Karen and the Light Sussex in Western PA.
