I know this sounds bad but I associate the white eggs with the commercial farms.
Brown eggs always make me think of happy hens running freely through a big yard or farm.

Yeah I know that brown egg layers are also used in those cruel farm factories, it is just a mind thing.

I know, I like brown eggs too, but if things work out I am just going to sell a rainbow dozen this spring. White, brown and blue. What do you think?

That sounds good to me. I like to get eggs with different colored shells when I buy them. I have one EE and a Golden Campine and a Welsummer, so once the girls start laying I should have a variety of colors in the fridge.

i get four colors from my hens, and i think they look really pretty all mixed up in a big bowl. :)
i can't wait for my 20 little ones to start laying.. soo many colors :)

I intentionally ordered the rainbow layers from McMurray because I want a variety of colors. I was really close to going with the brown layers but I think my kids will enjoy the different colors, I figure farm fresh free range eggs are awesome reguardless of shade

I tried to explain to my dad than an egg is an egg no matter what color. lol

He refuses to eat any of my eggs when I get my chicks and they start to lay (EE chicks coming soon!) because they won't be white!! I decided I'll make him a cake or something....and not tell him

until he eats it.

and on the same note...my mom got sad when I told her I was going to keep 1 roo with the girls.....she doesnt like the idea of eating a fertile egg....insists that they have bloodspots.
