In your opinion, how long would you give a chicken with wry neck before giving up?

Im running out of hope and things to try. I haven’t noticed any improvements. I’ve been helping her for 20 days now and I don’t think it’s a vitamin deficiency anymore.

How old is she? What vitamins have you been giving and how much for how long? I just read your other thread about your gaping hen, and you mentioned that you lost a bird ro Mareks. Wry neck is only a symptom. It can be from a vitamin E or B1 thiamine deficiency, a head or neck injury, and is seen in certain diseases (Mareks, Newcastles, fowl cholera, and others that affect the brain.) Is she able to eat and drink by herself, or are you having to feed her? Is she able to get around without getting picked on? I haven’t treated wry neck before, but I would try a few weeks to treat it.

Here’s what I’ve been giving her:
I’ve tried 2 different brands of Vit E with Selenium 2-3x day mixed in wet feed
Poly Vi Sol occasionally
Prednisone started 2x day, down to 1x
Vit Bs 1x/day
Poultry Cell
DermaNerv
Aspirin
Turmeric mixed in wet feed

I have to basically supervise her eating 3x day because she can eat on her own but she has to have help getting her head corrected. But she can only hold it that way for less than probably 2 mins before it falls again or something spooks her.

I’ve had her separated so she isn’t picked on.

At this point, yes, I’m starting to think it’s Mereks so I’m wondering if I’m wasting my time. I haven’t had a case of Mereks show within a year or more and never with wry neck. So I’m wondering if it’s showing back up. This bird is the age of when symptoms start showing.
