Three days ago, I found my Swedish Flower Hen 4 week old chick in the morning with her head tucked up under body and seemingly unable to get up. I have had her for 2 weeks and she has always seemed slightly unsteady, but a good eater/drinker. Her head will jerk around and she will sort of scoot backwards. We have been able to get her to drink and sometimes eat, but it has been three days and nearly no change. She occasionally seems to be getting better - standing up, drinking on her own, grooming herself, etc., but also sometimes seems worse. We found her on her back one morning, but then she righted herself... The first morning we found her, she did have a bloody stool, but since has had normal poop, although not a lot as she is not eating much.
I have a bantam cochin a couple weeks older who seemed a bit aggressive with her, but nothing too out of the ordinary. She is now separated from the other chicks, but I have never seen anything like this. I saw a mention of wry neck somewhere in a post. Could it be wry neck, an injury from the cochin, a virus? We are trying to keep her comfortable, but don't want her to be suffering. Also don't want to pass up a cure.
