Wry neck in new chick

Hi! First of all, I'm 99% sure this is wry neck. Since hatch (about 7hrs ago) he's been stuck like this, if you stretch the neck out you can feel the kink in his neck.
I've done tonnes of research before I ever started incubating but I've never actually dealt with wry neck yet!
So far I've given baby a small spoon full (about 0.5ml, under that after spilling some), of a chicken vitamin supplement that contains vitamin E, we don't have anything with selenium in it & still a few days out from payday. All of these chicks hatched early. 😅
My question is, how much vitamin should I be giving & how often? Overnight will it survive without food or water, or should I be getting up to help it eat & drink through the night? He's extremely hard to get to drink, but I did manage. We have not introduced to feed yet, how would I go about that? Mushy chick starter?
Appreciate any advice, I'd like to avoid mercy culling this cutie if I can!

*please note the eggs this guy came from were bought elsewhere, I don't have reason to believe this has anything to do with my flock of chickens. Just an unfortunate thing or incorrect diet from the seller.

Poor little thing!

Hopefully she'll come around.

I'd give 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex. For this tiny of chick, your best bet is to squeeze out the Vitamin E capsule, add the 1/4tablet B-Complex and a few drops of warm water to dissolve them together, use enough water to get everything dissolved, then draw up into a small needleless syringe. Give the chicks drops of the vitamins throughout the day, repeat for a few weeks.

Don't worry about finding Selenium. If you give the chick a bit of egg or even wet mushy feed, those have Selenium in them.

Awesome that's extremely helpful! Thank you so much. How often through the day would you offer this mix of vitamins, would you say?

For a little one like this, I would give 1-3 drops every hour or so, or until you finish all the vitamins for the day. Then switch to giving drops of plain water.

Is she doing any better?

Slight improvements today! I'm keeping it wrapped in a little container to help keep it upright correctly, vitamins every 1-2hrs. Still no interest in wet down feed but I still offer. Hoping we'll see real improvements soon 🤞

Adorable❤️
Looks like she's improved a little! Just keep doing what you're doing and hope for the best.

I was checking on these wry neck chickens and also some people saying they aren't getting better. I did use the protocols with B1 and B complex and E and Selenium. I did see the vitamins were not exactly seeming to help too much. I checked on foods that will provide B, B1 thiamine. I'm feeding my chicken with meat and also scrambled eggs and a bit of E oil with the ggs.. And I tried a few foods. She seems a bit better . (and the b vitamins I bought were not working, supposedly) Food medicine

Hey!
So this post is a little dated now, as this chick is now about 7 weeks old & absolutely THRIVING! It took 4 days of total round the clock care. In that time I kept the baby in the incubator (best place for both warmth & keeping it separate from the stronger siblings). I kept it lightly wrapped up in a small container (no lid), just to keep baby upright. I would set alarms every 1-2hrs to administer vitamins, water & offer food. After day 4 baby was finally eating, drinking & walking without assistance. The chick was totally fixed & joined the rest of its siblings & we haven't had any issues since!

I’m trying to fix what I think is oncoming wry neck in a button quail that’s suddenly having trouble lifting its head to eat. When you say you wrapped it, do you mean the neck? Please help! :(

Hopefully the OP will respond, but I think they mean that they placed the chick in a padded cup with it head up. For wry neck using human vitamin E 400 IU daily and some thiamine in chick vitamins or B complex can help. A little scrambled egg for selenium is also good.
