Wry Neck Please Help

My little girl is still holding her own. She still is very weak and her neck still the same not any better at all. Still giving her vitamins 2x a day. She will only eat oatmeal with water. Tried cream style corn, no way, tried chicks crumbles with water, no way, put the oatmeal down and she raises her head up and loves it. My little girl with pnemonia died this morning. Hoping my little BO gets better soon.

I'm so sorry about your lost chick. I hope your other girl can break through this for you. Sometimes it's really hard to have animals, isn't it? Hang in there - it sounds like you are doing your best, and that's all you can do.

My little BO is showing some signs of getting better at least she is standing up and eating much better. She is still having spasms to where her neck goes to the right and then turns upside down. The weird thing is that she gets worse if I take her out of her box, or the clothes basket. I would love to see her walk around but that's when her neck turns and she flips on her side. I am praying she gets over this soon.

This sure has been a long road to care for a chicken but she is FINALLY back outside like a real chicken sure be. Her Wry Neck was so bad that she layed on her side for two days, she did not eat or drink. The muscles in her neck twisted it so far to the right that she would fall over on her side. I wrapped her in a bath towel put her in a box in the bathroom and was waiting for her to die. She finally started to eat a little and that's when I read on BYC about the vitamins. Started her on E capsules 400 iu and vitamin B12 twice a day on some scrambled egg or water and oatmeal with Poly Vi-Sol vitamins. That is all she would eat. No water for several days, I guess she got enough water from the water and oatmeal. This started before Christmas and she just went back outside Jan. 4 or 5th. Just wanted to send an update for anyone trying to help with pet.
