Wry neck

Hi all 7 little quail chicks hatched last night and this morning I moved them to their brooder one has bad wry neck and was falling all over the place. I figured it might have been stuck in its egg as all the others were fine.... I dipped its beak in water and gave it massage around its neck I later dipped its beak in a brewers yeast and water.mix and during the day massages its front and back neck its now 4 pm and I can't tell which one it was before it was looking up at the sky when resting or on its back being trampled... hope this helps others.... ps I have one boy outside with 3 girls but he only mates with 1 girl constantly and she has lost all her head and back feathers and the others are fine I have oberserved him mainly mating with the one girl and he chases her round all day any tips? Stay safe all

You can't really stop the male from having a favourite. If it's not too bad and they all seem happy enough, you can leave them. If it's really bad and they're not happy, perhaps separating them or introducing more females could help.

I have had wry neck chicks before. Sometimes the do heal themselves. Be patient and maybe your chick will be okay. Do try and give it sips of egg yolk water.

Thanks guys wry neck chick seems back to normal eating and drinking and walking normally. I did pop the boy in a separate cage next to the girls outside and he seems to be the only one distressed I might pop him.back in at the end of the week at least it'll give the girl a break for a bit.... take care all
